With swipe and go convenience, the WageWorks Health Care Card (the Card) makes it easy to use your Health Care FSA to save big on eligible items and services you use every day.
Use your WageWorks Health Care Card instead of cash or credit at health care providers and pharmacies for eligible services, goods and prescriptions. Now that a doctor's prescription is required for Over-the-Counter (OTC) items, you will need to use another form of payment at checkout and then submit a claim for repayment afterward. You still will be able to use the Card to purchase certain medical items, such as band-aids, at qualified merchants. To accept the Card, the merchant must have an IRS-qualified system that can automatically verify transactions at checkout. While many of your Card transactions will be verified at checkout, you'll still need to hold on to your receipts for tax purposes. For a list of qualified merchants, please visit www.sigis.com.
You may also be able to use your Card at select pharmacies that sell primarily health care items and prescriptions, as the IRS has allowed an exemption that will enable some of these pharmacies to accept the Card without the IRS-approved system. If accepted, Card purchases made at these pharmacies will require verification.
Visit www.sigis.com to find out everywhere the Card is now accepted and the WageWorks Card Resource Center to learn more about the Card and how we've made it even simpler and more convenient to use.
We also recommend you visit the Health Care Reform page on learning center for more information about the Affordable Care Act and the effect it will have on your FSA.
